Miguel Angel Vega

Through the arts, mostly painting, Miguel Angel Vega work explores the various dialogues that are generated by the everyday life “image”. As elements of the public scene, social media, etc. all this factors are reference for his creations of contemporary and its narratives. This images allow him to read intertwined concepts such as power, esthetics, and more given though of reflection and analysis, concluding with an imagery that a body is a piece or products that can covey many ideas.

Miguel Vega studied the career of Arts in the University of Guadalajara. Confounder and coordinator of the Gallery Casa Pop, which focus on graffiti, urban, and design art. For two years, he was director of the project Cochera Galeria, a space dedicated to new medias and contemporary art. In 2010, Vega imparted theory and practice painting courses for the Asociacion de Artistas Plas Asociación de Artistas Plásticos de Neuquén (ANAP) for the National University of Comanue, Argentina.

Vega has been part of many competitions among which he has been awarded with the acquisition of the XVI Biennial of Painting Rufino Tamayo, summoned by the Olga and Rufino Tamayo Foundation, INBA and CONACULTA (2014), besides the first price on the Painting Biennial Joaquín Clausell, by the Autonomous University of Campeche, the State Government of Campeche and CONACULTA (2015).

His artwork has been exhibit in the USA, Argentina and Spain, as well as the renowned Rufino Tamayo Museum, The contemporary art museum of Oaxaca (MACO), The contemporary museum of Yucatan (MACAY), the research institute of cultural museum of the Autonomous University of Baja California (IIC-Museum UABC), and other.
